LucisArt Pro FeaturesProduct Overview: LucisArt Pro will be more powerful and even easier to use than LucisArt. Please note that the Macintosh LucisArt Pro will run on the Intel Macintosh computers only. It is just too expensive to add the ability to operate on the older Macintosh computers to LucisArt Pro. The Windows LucisArt Pro will run in Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Windows Vista Service Pack 1. Both the Windows and Macintosh versions of LucisArt Pro will require Adobe Photoshop CS3 or Photoshop Elements 6. LucisArt Pro will allow users to access image content using two sliders, an enhance detail slider and a smooth detail slider. Each slider can be altered in increments of 2 intensity levels. So that is 125 settings for each slider for an 8 bit image and 16,000 settings for a 16-bit image. When you move the enhance detail slider image detail and features will be enhanced. If you use the detail smooth detail slider only then the smallest contrast variances are smoothed. This is like the Winslow effect in LucisArt. If you move both sliders then you are enhancing image features while smoothing the smaller image detail, which is the Sculpture special effect. LucisArt Pro will handle 16-bit images and have a large preview window. The Macintosh version will run natively on the Intel Macintosh computers. Another important improvement is 3-channel processing. LucisArt Pro will allow you to view and alter the grayscale information of each channel using the two sliders, then see the result of the alterations in the preview window. This allows you to do incredible things to images, especially new artistic effects. How the altered RGB grayscale images overlap determine image detail and color. There are image examples of this on the current Lucis Pro 5.0 web site. LucisArt Pro will also be faster when used on a multi-processor computer. Plus it will have a new feature where you can increase the processing accuracy. What this will do is allow you to eliminate (or at least greatly reduce) some of the angular “line” artifacts that appear when you apply Winslow or Sculpture to a high degree. LucisArt users may or may not have seen this artifact. It depends on how you use LucisArt. These angular artifacts taken to the extreme are the basis of the special effect Plaid. To give you another perspective on how much more powerful LucisArt Pro will be than LucisArt: LucisArt was developed using presets from Lucis Pro 5.0. So the effect Exposure is just 7 settings from the enhance detail slider. That is all. Whyeth is 5 settings from the enhance detail slider but the first two are repeats of the last presets in Exposure. Winslow is the smooth detail slider. But with LucisArt you can’t apply the enhance detail slider at the same time. The special effect where you are moving both sliders is called Sculpture. And again in LucisArt this has presets. With LucisArt Pro, users will have the full processing power of Lucis Pro 5.0 in a Photoshop plug-in. Using the enhance detail slider and the smooth detail slider together effectively provides over 15,000 different sculpture effects for an 8 bit image and millions of sculpture effects for a 16-bit image.
